Weapons

Purchase high quality, handcrafted, wooden practice weapons made to standard specifications and manufactured for typical Aikido weapons' training with contact. All weapons are manufactured by a skilled carpenter using  Kaliamaruthu / Marutham (Terminalia elliptica) wood, which is a dense, durable hardwood native to India. Hence, all weapons will have the typical colour of the material: rich, deep brown with dark streaks and fine, striking grain patterns (irrespective of the representative photographs below). By default the items will be varnished.

Weapons include:

• Jo: wooden staff

• Bokken: wooden Japanese sword / katana

• Wakizashi: wooden short-sword

• Tanto: wooden knife

Expect minor variability in dimensions since each item is crafted by hand.
